flavorful bottled beer, such as a red ale
English or dry mustard (optional)
sourdough loaf or boule

Method :
- Cut the clove of garlic in half and
rub the cut side all over the inside of a microwavable glass bowl
suitable for serving.
- Discard the halves.
- Place the butter in the bowl and
microwave on high for less than 1 minute, just until melted.
- Meanwhile, grate the cheese (use the
grating blade of the food processor if desired) and set aside.
- Stir the cornstarch into the butter
until smooth.
- Add the beer, grated cheese, dash to
Tabasco, and the mustard if desired.
- Microwave on high for 3-4 minutes,
until the cheese starts to melt.
- Stir and continue to nuke until the
cheese is fully melted.
- While the fondue is melting, cut the
sourdough loaf into bite-size cubes.
- Serve the hot fondue with a basket of
the bread cubes for dipping.
