Macaroons Recipes

Ingredients :

1 cup honey

1/2 cup milk

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp vanilla

3 to 3 1/2 cups rolled oats

6 tbsp unsweetened cocoa

1 cup chopped nuts

1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut

Method :

In a large saucepan, cook the honey, milk and baking soda over medium heat until the temperature reaches 250F. On a candy thermometer. Do not scorch the mixture by having the heat too high.

When the honey mixture has reached 250F, remove it from the heat and add the vanilla. Next, add the oats, cocoa, nuts, and coconut. Mix quickly, then drop by teaspoonful onto waxed paper. You may also press the mixture onto a cookie sheet and cut it into squares when cool.

Makes 2-3 dozen
