Banana Fritters (Goreng Pisang) Recipes

Ingredients :

15 ripe bananas

150g plain wheat flour

150g rice flour

1 tsp salt

300ml warm water

1 egg white

1 egg yolk, beaten together

1 tsp sugar

a pinch of slaked lime (kapur)

a pinch of baking soda

oil for deep frying


(Goreng = Fried)

(Pisang = Banan)

Method :

Sift all flours and salt together. Make a well in the center and pour egg yolk sugar mixture and slaked lime. Add in warm water a little at a time to form a smooth batter. Skin bananas and cut lengthwise into two. Just before dipping banana in to batter, pour egg white and stir. Heat oil for deep frying. Dip banana pieces in the batter and fry 5-6 pieces at a time until golden brown. Remove from oil and drain. Use oil absorbent paper. Serve hot.

Serves 3-4
