Buttermilk Drop Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients :
Makes 10-12 biscuits |
2 cups
2 teaspoons
1/2 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
6 tablespoons
1 cup |
all-purpose flour
baking powder
baking soda
salt
butter, shortening, or margarine
butttermilk |
Method :

Heat the oven to 425o.
- In the work bowl of a food processor,
place the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and stir.
- Pulse once to combine.
- Add the butter or shortening in
pieces, not in one big lump.
- Pulse on and off for a few seconds
until the mixture makes coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the buttermilk all at once and
pulse just enough to moisten.
- Do not over mix.
- The dough should be soft, lumpy, and
wet-looking.
- Drop big spoonfuls of dough onto an
ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, until raised
and golden brown.
- Serve immediately.
