Method :

Heat the oven to 180oC (350oF),
Gas 4.
- Grease a baking tray.
- Mix together the flour, oatmeal and
sugar and rub in the margarine.
- Melt the syrup in a small pan, cool
slightly and pour on to the dry ingredients.
- Mix with just enough milk to give a
firm dough.
- Turn on to a lightly floured surface
and knead lightly until smooth.
- Roll out to 6 mm thickness and cut
into rounds with a 6 cm biscuit cutter.
- Transfer to the baking tray and prick
all over with a fork.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Allow to cool slightly, then transfer
to a wire rack.
- When cold, store in an airtight tin.
Makes about 16 biscuits
