Half Way Biscuits Recipes

Ingredients :

1/2 cup corn meal

2 tbsp golden syrup

salt

1 tsp vanilla

60g butter

2 cups wheat meal flour

2 tsp baking powder

60g sultanas

nut pieces

Method :
  1. Begin an hour before hand by soaking the corn meal in a cup of water.
  2. When ready, drain the corn meal, squeeze out the remaining water and place meal in a bowl with the syrup.
  3. Add salt and vanilla and whisk briskly.
  4. Melt the butter and add in; then stir in the sifted flour and baking powder.
  5. Lastly fold in the fruit.
  6. Form into moist balls and press a piece of nut into the top of each.
  7. Bake and store in an airtight tin when cold.

Oven - 350F

Makes 24 slices
