Savoury Biscuits (Pakoras) Recipes

Ingredients :

3 cups

1/2 cup

4 tablespoons

1/2 teaspoon

1 teaspoon

plain flour

semolina

ghee

dill seeds

black peppercorns, crushed fine

salt to taste

oil for deep frying

Method :
  1. Mix all the ingredients except the oil together and rub in well.

  2. Knead into a hard dough with a little water.

  3. Roll out dough about 1.5 cm thick and using a cutter, cut out into rounds about 5 cm in diameter.

  4. Or cut into rectangles, about 2 cm X 5 cm in size.

  5. Prick all over with a fork and deep fry in hot oil over low heat until golden.

Serves 4 - 6

Fenugreek was used to reduce fevers an soothe intestinal inflammation.
