Ingredients :

whole wheat flour
cream of tartar
bicarbonate of soda
salt
caster sugar
ground ginger
egg
vegetable oil
milk
apples, peeled, cored and finely chopped
Sift the dry ingredients and beat in the egg, oil and milk.
Beat well, cover and set aside for 15 minutes.
Stir in the chopped apple.
Drop spoon full of the batter to a heated non stick base (griddle or frying pan).
Cook for 1 minute or until the top bubbles, flip over and cook the underside for 1-2 minutes.
Wrap the scones in folded cloth to keep them warm while you cook the remainder.
Serve warm, if possible.
