Potato and Oat Farls Recipe

Ingredients :

5 ml

medium-sized potatoes, cooked

salt

knob of butter

oatmeal

Method :
  1. Mash the potatoes and stir in the salt and butter.

  2. Work in enough oatmeal to form a soft dough.

  3. Turn onto a surface scattered with oatmeal and form into a round or square.

  4. Cut into quarters (farls) or squares.

  5. Heat a griddle.

  6. Cook the farls on the hot griddle until browned on both sides.

  7. Eat hot or cold with plenty of butter.

These farls are very good served with bacon. If preferred, cook the bacon and keep it warm while frying the farls in the bacon fat.
