Raisin and Hazelnut Buns Recipe

Ingredients :

wheat meal self raising flour

salt

sugar

margarine

seedless raisins

All Bran

hazelnuts, chopped

egg, beaten

milk

Method :
  1. Heat the oven to 200oC (400oF), Gas 6.

  2. Grease 12 deep bun tins or paper baking cases.
  3. Mix together the flour, salt and sugar.
  4. Rub in the margarine until the mixture resembles find bread crumbs.
  5. Add the raisins, All Bran and hazelnuts.
  6. Beat in the egg and enough milk to make a soft dropping consistency.
  7. Spoon into the tins or cases on a baking tray and bake for 12-15 minutes, until well risen and springy.
  8. Leave to cool slightly before turning out.
  9. Serve warm, or very fresh.

Makes 12 buns
