Sourdough 'Starter' Recipe

Ingredients :

15 ml

30 ml

15 ml

5 ml

2.5 ml

5 ml

50 g

milk

water

warm water

sugar

dried yeast

salt

whole meal flour

Method :
  1. Put the milk and 30 ml water into a small pan.

  2. Bring to the boil, then remove from the heat.

  3. Put the 15 ml warm water into a small bowl, stir in the sugar to dissolve, then sprinkle on the yeast.

  4. Leave in a warm place for 10 minutes until frothy.

  5. Mix with the milk and water and stir in the salt.

  6. Put the flour into a bowl, pour on the liquid all at once and stir well.

  7. Cover and leave in a warm place for 1 day.

  8. If you make twice the quantity, it will stay 'alive' for future use if the bowl is covered and kept at room temperature.

  9. Do not chill.

Take two days to work.
