Method :

Heat the oven to 220oC (425oF),
Gas 7.

Flour a baking tray.

Sift together the flour, salt and soda
and add the bran remaining in the sieve.

Mix together the milk and lemon juice,
stir into the flour and mix to firm dough, adding a little warm water if
necessary.

Divide in 2 shape each into a round and
place on the baking tray.

Cover each with a deep inverted cake
tin and bake near the top of the oven for 30 minutes.

Remove the covering tins and bake for
about 15 minutes, or until firm.

Serve warm and preferably on the day of
baking.
Makes 2 x 300g loaves.
