Whole meal and Honey Scones Recipes

Ingredients :

whole meal self-raising flour

self-raising flour

cinnamon

nutmeg

milk

honey

butter, melted

milk for glazing

sunflower seed kernels, sesame seeds or oats

Method :
  1. Preheat the oven to 225C and grease a baking tray.

  2. Sift flours and spices into a bowl.

  3. Add rough fiber of whole meal flour to bowl.

  4. Combine milk, honey and melted butter.

  5. Stir into dry ingredients and mix to a soft dough with a dinner knife.

  6. Turn out on a lightly floured surface and knead gently.

  7. Shape dough into a w0cm round and place on prepared tray.

  8. With a floured knife, cut completely through to bottom to make 8 wedges.

  9. Separate wedges slightly.

  10. Brush top with a little milk to glaze.

  11. Sprinkle with sunflower kernels, sesame seeds or oats, and bake for 15 minutes or until pale golden.

  12. Remove from oven and wrap in a clean tea-towel for 10 minutes before serving warm.
