Dried Fruit Compôte Recipes

Ingredients :

225 g

 

150 ml

mixed dried fruits (apple rings, apricots, figs, peaches, pears, prunes-soaked overnight)

unsweetened apple juice

pinch cinnamon

grated rind and juice 1 lemon

Method :
  1. Drain the fruit and measure 275 ml pint of the soaking water into a pan; add the lemon rind and juice, apple juice, pinch of cinnamon and fruit.

  2. Bring slowly to the boil, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

  3. For those who like a hot breakfast, this compôte is delicious served steaming hot.

  4. But if it is to be served cold, chill and serve with low fat plain yoghurt.
