Glutinous Rice Cakes With Sweet Syrup Recipe

Ingredients :

glutinous rice, washed thoroughly

screw pine leaves, washed; shredded and pounded to obtain 11/2 cups juice

block palm sugar

sugar

grated coconut, white part only

banana leaves for wrapping

Method :
  1. Cook the glutinous rice with the screw pine juice until the rice is cooked.
  2. Stir continuously so that it does not burn.
  3. Set aside.
  4. Soften the banana leaves over a flame and wrap the glutinous rice as you desire, tie with a piece of string on both ends.
  5. Put in a steamer and steam over rapidly boiling water.
  6. Prepare the sauce.
  7. Cook both types of sugar to make a syrup.
  8. Add screw pine leaves for its fragrance.
  9. Ready to serve.
