Siennese Cookies With Spices, Honey and Nuts Recipe
Ingredients :

chopped candied orange and citron peel

ground anise seeds

ground coriander seeds
butter for
greasing the cookie sheet
Method :
Using a double boiler or a bowl over
simmering water, heat the sugar and honey together.
When a thread of honey forms when a
spoonful is lifted above the bowl, remove from the heat and gently
fold in the flour together with the walnuts, peel, anise and
coriander.
Flour your hands to stop the mixture
sticking to them and break off pieces of the dough, rolling them
into small cylinders.
Cut them into slices about 2.5 cm
thick and form into curved shapes.
Put onto a buttered and floured cookie
sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 325oF (160oC), Gas 3 for about
1 hour.
