Baked Bananas with Chocolate Fudge Sauce Recipes

Ingredients :

4 firm bananas, skins left on

1 tbsp lemon juice

lightly whipped cream


100ml double cream

125g plain dark chocolate, broken into pieces

25g unsalted butter

125g golden syrup

Method :
  1. Place the bananas in a shallow ovenproof dish.

  2. Brush the skins with the lemon juice and bake in oven, 350F, gas mark 4, 20 minutes or until the bananas have darkened in color and feel soft.

  3. Meanwhile, make the sauce.

  4. Put the cream, chocolate, butter and golden syrup into a small, heavy-based saucepan.

  5. Heat gently, stir, until the chocolate has melted.

  6. Bring to the boil for 2 minutes until thickened slightly.

  7. Transfer the bananas to warmed serving plates.

  8. Split lengthways to reveal the flesh.

  9. Top with cream or ice cream and serve with the hot sauce
