Chocolate Flake Slice Recipes

cocoa powder

sugar

lightly crushed toasted muesli

egg, beaten

butter, melted and cooled

cocoa powder

icing sugar, sifted

hot milk

butter

vanilla essence

1. Preheat oven to 180C and grease an 18cm square sandwich cake tin.

2. Sift flour, baking powder and cocoa 3 times into a bowl, add sugar, muesli, egg and butter, and combine well.

3. Press firmly into prepared tin and bake 15-20 minutes or until firm to the touch.

4. Allow to cool in tin.

5. To prepare icing: sift cocoa and icing sugar into a bowl.

6. Stir butter into hot milk until butter melts.

7. Add sufficient milk mixture to icing sugar to form a spreading consistency.

8. Stir in vanilla essence.

9. Spread icing over slice and when set, cut into slices to serve.
