Ingredients :

eggs, separated

dark chocolate, melted

brandy

ground almonds

fresh white breadcrumbs

dark Toblerone, melted

dark corn syrup

melted butter

cream

Method :
  1. Beat butter and sugar together until pale and creamy.

  2. Beat in the egg yolks, one at a time.

  3. Beat in melted chocolate and brandy, fold in the ground almonds and breadcrumbs, mix well.

  4. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.

  5. Fold into chocolate mixture in 2 batches.

  6. Pour into a greased, paper lined and flour-dusted, 23cm spring form pan.

  7. Bake at 180C for 30-35 minutes.

  8. Turn out onto a wire rack to cool.

  9. Combine Toblerone, corn syrup, butter and cream in a small saucepan over low heat, stir until combined.

  10. Spread over cooled cake.
