Baked Custard Recipes

Ingredients :

2 eggs

liquid artificial sweetener to taste

1 1/3 cups skim milk

1 tsp vanilla essence

sprinkling of ground nutmeg

Method :

In bowl, lightly beat the eggs. Gradually add the milk to the egg mixture, stirring constantly. Stir in the vanilla essence and sweetener. Check flavor. Pour mixture into a pie or soufflé dish or dishes. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Stand the baking dish (es) in a large baking dish. Carefully pour enough water into the large baking dish to reach two thirds up the outside of the pie of soufflé dish (es). Bake fro 35 minutes if you are using individual dishes, 45 minutes if you are using one big dish. The custard should be lightly browned and set in the center.

This family favorite can be served hot or cold.
