1/2 cup peaches and 1/2 cup liquid

1 small pear, peeled, cored and cut into 8 wedges

12 whole cherries

4 yellow plums, cut into half and stoned

2 cloves

pinch ground cinnamon

Method :

Place ingredients in saucepan, with apple at the bottom and peaches on the top. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 10 minutes or until all fruit is tender. Cool and place in refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving in glass dishes.

To store - cover and refrigerate for up to three days.

This is usually a chilled dessert, but you can serve it hot. Vary the fruit according to season and your preference. For instance, if fresh plums are not available, use canned, unsweetened apricot halves or peach slices which you add after the other fruit has been cooked.
