285 ml bottle low joule (low calorie) dry
ginger ale
juice of 1 lemon
1/2 tsp minced fresh ginger
1/4 cup orange juice concentrate
3-4 drops yellow food coloring (optional)
6 cloves
ground cinnamon - garnish
Method :
Place pears
in saucepan. Add dry ginger ale, lemon juice, ginger, orange juice
concentrate, food coloring and cloves. Cover and simmer until pears are
tender, turning and basting the pears so they cook and color evenly.
Alternatively microwave, covered, on 'high' for 4-6 minutes until
tender. Lift pears onto serving dish. Simmer juice until slightly
reduced. Pour over pears. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve hot or chilled.
To store -
cover and refrigerate for up to four days.
