Butterscotch Flan Recipes

Ingredients : |
|
175g plain flour
75g butter, cut into small pieces
25g caster sugar
1-2 tbsp water
whipped cream, to decorate
Filling:
125g dark soft brown sugar
40g butter
40g plain flour, sifted
300ml milk
150ml single cream |
Method :
- Sift flour in a bowl, add butter,
run until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Stir in sugar with enough water to
mix to a firm dough; knead lightly.
- Roll out the pastry on a floured
surface and line a 9inch fluted flan dish.
- Prick the base and chill for 30
minutes.
- Line the pastry case with nonstick
baking paper and baking beans and bake in oven 375F, gas mark 5, 15
minutes.
- Remove the paper and beans and
cook 5-10 minutes, until firm, cool.
- Prepare the filling:
- Place butter, sugar, flour, milk,
cream in a saucepan, bring to boil, whisking, cook gently 1 minute.
- Pour into pastry case and chill
till set.
- Decorate with cream.
