Ginger Snaps Recipes

Ingredients :

8 oz plain flour

1 tsp baking powder

pinch of mixed spice

1 tsp ground ginger

2 oz butter

4 oz soft brown sugar

1 egg, beaten

2-3 tbsp golden syrup

Method :
  1. Preheat the oven to 180C Gas Mark 4, grease 2 baking sheets.
  2. Sift the flour, baking powder and spices together.
  3. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles bread crumbs.
  4. Stir in the sugar.
  5. Add the beaten egg and syrup to make a soft consistency.
  6. Take walnut-sized spices of the mixture and roll them into balls.
  7. Place them well apart on the baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until lightly browned.

Serves 20
