Method :
- Preheat the oven to 180C Gas Mark
4, grease 2 baking sheets.
- Sift the flour, baking powder and
spices together.
- Rub in the butter until the
mixture resembles bread crumbs.
- Stir in the sugar.
- Add the beaten egg and syrup to
make a soft consistency.
- Take walnut-sized spices of the
mixture and roll them into balls.
- Place them well apart on the
baking sheets.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until
lightly browned.
