Florentine Slice Recipes

Ingredients :

2 cups cornflakes, lightly crushed

1/2 cup sultanas

1/2 cup flaked almonds

1/2 cup chopped glacÚ cherries

1/4 cup mixed peel

2/3 cup condensed milk

125g dark chocolate, melted

Method :

Preheat oven to moderate 180C. Brush a deep 29 x 19 x 3cm Swiss roll tin with melted butter or oil. Line base and sides with paper, grease paper. Combine cornflakes, sultanas, almonds, cherries and peel. Add condensed milk, stir until combined.

Press mixture evenly into prepared tin. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned, cool 5 minutes, turn out. Cut into 4 x 4 cm squares. Hold each square by one corner, dip square halfway into chocolate. Allow excess to run off, place onto wire rack to set.

Note - Slice can be stored in an airtight container in refrigerator for up to 1 week Unsuitable to freeze.
