Gulab Jamun is a rich dessert once prepared especially for Maharajas in India. This wonderful dessert is normally served with rose petals, or rose essence is added to the syrup for that sweet fragrance. The advantage of making gulab jamun for a festival is that the milk balls have to be matured in a syrup for at least a week for a good flavor. Since it can be made ahead, it saves you time during your busy festive schedule.
