Method :

Heat the oven to 180oC (350oF),
Gas 4.

Grease a baking tray.
- Mix together the rolled oats, flour,
salt and baking powder.
- Rub in the margarine and mix with
enough cold water to make a firm dough.
- Sprinkle some oats on to a lightly
floured surface, turn out the dough and knead lightly floured surface,
turn out the dough and knead lightly.
- Roll out to about 6 mm thickness.
- Cut into 8, transfer to the baking
tray and bake for 25 minutes, until golden brown.
- Cool on the tray then transfer to a
wire rack.
Makes 8 oatcakes
Each
oatcake : 9 g fat, 3 g fiber
