Sugar Coated Glutinous Rice Cakes Recipe

Kuih Tas ( in Malay words)

Ingredients :

500 gm

1/2

3 cups

 

 

Coating:

2 cups

1 cup

glutinous rice flour

grated coconut

water

pinch of salt

oil for deep frying

 

sugar

water

Method :
  1. Mix together the flour, salt and coconut.

  2. Add in water and mix until of dough consistency.

  3. Form diamond shapes.

  4. Heat oil and fry the cakes until golden.

  5. Lift and drain.

  6. Put water and sugar for the coating in a pan and bring to boil until the mixture thickens.

  7. Put in the cakes and stir until the sugar crystallizes and coats all the cakes evenly.

  8. Lift and serve immediately.

Serves 6-8
