Cherry Chocolate Balls Recipes

Ingredients :


2 tbsp


1/4 cup

8-ounce can pitted dark sweet cherries

brandy or cognac

chocolate ice cream

finely chopped nuts

Method :
  1. Drain cherries, reserving syrup.

  2. Cook syrup in 1-quart saucepan till reduced to 1/4 cup.

  3. Add brandy and cherries.

  4. Let stand 6-8 hours or overnight.

  5. Drain cherries.

  6. Fill small ice cream scoop or 1/4 cup measure with the chocolate ice cream; poke 2-3 cherries into center.

  7. Cover with ice cream to make a ball; freeze.

  8. Let balls soften slightly before serving; roll in chopped nuts.

Makes 2-3 servings
