Ginger Spice Biscuits Recipes

Ingredients :

250g

1 cup

3 cups

1 tbsp

1 tsp

butter

brown sugar

egg yolk

plain flour

ground ginger

ground cardamom or cinnamon

Method :
  1. Preheat the oven to 225C and grease oven trays.

  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Beat in egg yolk and mix well.

  4. Add sifted flour and spices to mixture and combine to form a stiff dough.

  5. Roll out on a lightly floured board until 1 cm thick.

  6. Cut into desired shape with floured cutters.

  7. Arrange on prepared trays and bake for 12-15 minutes.

  8. Cool on tray, decorate biscuits with glace icing and sweets if desired.

Makes 40

These traditional spice biscuits are perfect as Christmas treats. Use a tree-shaped biscuit cutter and decorate with glace cherries. Use cinnamon if cardamom is unavailable.
