Melt 2 tbsp
of butter in a saucepan over low heat.

Remove the
pan from the heat, add 1/3 cup plain flour and stir until well combined.

Gradually
whisk in 2 cups milk and 2 tbsp caster sugar.

Return the
pan to medium heat and whisk until the sauce boils and thickens.

Reduce the
heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from
the heat, and stir in 2 tsp butter, 1/3 cup whisky and 1 tbsp thick
cream.

Cover with
plastic wrap until needed.

Makes 2 cups.
