Apple Sauce Recipe

Ingredients :

1lb cooking apples, peeled and cored

2-3 tbsp water

1 oz butter

little sugar (optional)

Method :
  1. Slice the apples into a small saucepan and add the water.
  2. Cover the pan and cook gently until very soft and pulpy - 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Beat the apple with a wooden spoon until quite smooth, or rub through a sieve or puree in a blender.
  4. Return to a clean pan and beat in the butter or margarine and a little sugar, to taste.

Serves 6
