Method :
- Slice the apples into a small saucepan
and add the water.
- Cover the pan and cook gently until
very soft and pulpy - 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Beat the apple with a wooden spoon
until quite smooth, or rub through a sieve or puree in a blender.
- Return to a clean pan and beat in the
butter or margarine and a little sugar, to taste.
Serves 6
