Autumn Fruit Crumble Recipe

Ingredients : |
8 oz blackberries
2 cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
2 tsp cornflour
4-5oz sugar
4 oz plain flour
2 oz butter, diced
2 oz demerara sugar
1 oz bran flakes, coarsely crushed
2 oz chopped mixed nuts |
Method :
- Place the blackberries and apple
slices in a bowl.
- Mix together the cornflour and sugar
and sprinkle over the fruit.
- Toss well until thoroughly coated.
- Turn the mixture into a 2 pint pie
dish.
- Sift the flour into a mixing bowl, add
the butter and rub in with the fingertips until the mixture resembles
coarse breadcrumbs.
- Stir in the demerara sugar, bran
flakes and chopped nuts.
- Spoon the mixture over the fruit and
flatten slightly with the back of a spoon.
- Cook in a preheated oven, 375F Gas
Mark 5, for 40-46 minutes until the fruit is tender and the topping
light golden.
- Serve hot or cold.
