Method :

Pare, halve, and core pears; place in
1-quart baking dish.

In a saucepan, combine remaining
ingredients; add a few drops red food coloring if desired.

Bring to boiling; pour over pears.

Bake, covered, at 350° for 30 minutes.

Uncover and bake 10 minutes or till
tender, basting once or twice.

Serve hot, or chill and top with
whipped cream.
