1/2
1/4 cup
1.5 pound
|
lemon
sugar
fresh fruit (such as apples, plums,
apricots, pears, or peaches), or two 28-ounce cans of fruit in light
syrup (such as peaches or pears) |
Method :
-
Preheat the oven to 350°C.
-
Butter a small 1-quart baking dish.
-
If using canned fruit, go to step 4,
if you use fresh fruit, core or seed it, and cut it into small
chunks directly into the baking dish.
-
Hold a strainer over the baking dish
and squeeze the juice from the half lemon over the fruit.
-
Sprinkle the sugar over the fruit.
-
If you use canned fruit, drain it,
retaining a few tablespoons of juice for moisture, and dump the
fruit and reserved juice into the baking dish.
-
Use a knife to cut it into small
chunks.
-
In the food processor or in a small
bowl, combine the topping ingredients.
-
Pulse in the processor, or mix with a
fork or your fingers, until the butter is absorbed and the mixture
is crumbly.
-
Sprinkle over the fruit and bake for
about 30 minutes for fresh fruit or 20 minutes for canned fruit.
