1/4 cup
berries (or peeled and finely chopped fresh fruit)
Method :
Combined the maple syrup and fruit
in a small bowl or measuring cup and stir well.
For a smoother consistency,
combine the mixture in a blender and process until lightly blended.
Fruit sweetened preserves may be
substituted for the fresh fruit, if preferred. If the preserves are very
thick, stir them well, then thin with a little water, if necessary,
before combining with the maple syrup. This recipe is easily doubled,
tripled, or quadrupled. It's great when you are cooking for a crowd and
want an easy, delicious topping that tastes really special but doesn't
require much work.
This luscious mixture is an ideal
topping for pancakes, French toast, or hot cereal.
