The most popular soft fruits are probably blackberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. Do not overlook cranberries.

Although too sharp to eat raw, their intense flavor and stunning color make them very good for cooking. Gooseberries for cooking are small, firm, green and quite sharp, while dessert varieties are larger and sweeter.
