Badami Kheer Desserts Recipes

Ingredients :

50 g

1 liter

100 g

6 g

1 tsp

150 g

4-5 drops

almonds, blanched, halved

milk, full cream

long grain rice

green cardamom (choti elaichi)

lemon rind, grated


rose water (gulab jal)

Method :
  1. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Drain and keep aside.
  3. Boil milk over medium heat.
  4. Add rice, green cardamoms and lemon rind, cook until the rice is slightly over done.
  5. Add the sugar and almonds and cook for 5-10 minutes, stirring from time to time with a wooden spoon.
  6. Check the consistency - it should be quite thick and with a slightly golden in color.
  7. Add rose water and garnish with cherries (optional).
  8. Serve hot or chilled.

Serves 4-5

Preparation time : 30 minutes

Dessert time : 30 minutes
