Pikelet Faces Recipe

whole meal self-raising flour
white self-raising flour
milk
grated orange rind
orange juice
oil
butter, melted
cocoa
honey
butter, extra, softened
extra butter, for pan |
Method :
- Sift flours into bowl, make a well in
the centre, add combined milk, orange rind, orange juice, oil and
butter.
- Using a wooden spoon, stir until
smooth.
- Place half a cup of the mixture into
another bowl and add the cocoa and stir until smooth.
- Spoon cocoa mixture into a piping bag,
fitted with a plain tube.
- Heat extra butter in pan.
- Pipe eyes and mouth on to pan and
leave to cook for 30 seconds.
- Gently pour a tablespoon of orange
pikelet mixture on top of the face and turn pikelet over when bubbles
begin to appear.
- Lightly cook other side and remove
from pan.
- Repeat with remaining mixture.
- Serve with the honey butter.
- To make honey butter.
- Stir honey into butter until combined.
