Toasted Almond Slices Recipes

Ingredients :

125g

1/2 cup

Almond Topping

1/2 cup

3/4 cup

butter, softened

icing sugar

plain flour, sifted

 

brown sugar

butter

water

lemon juice

flaked almonds

vanilla essence

Method :
  1. Preheat oven to 180C and line a 20cm square cake tin with greaseproof paper.
  2. To prepare base: cream butter and icing sugar until fluffy using medium speed of an electric mixer.
  3. Add flour and mix well.
  4. Press mixture into prepared tin and bake for 15 minutes.
  5. In a pan, combine sugar, butter, water and lemon juice.
  6. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly to dissolve sugar completely.
  7. Remove from heat, stir in almonds and vanilla.
  8. Spread topping carefully over partially baked crust.
  9. Continue baking 15-20 minutes until topping is set and golden.
  10. Cool on a wire rack.
  11. Cut into slices to serve and remove paper.
